We Are So in Love with Drake and Eminem’s Rap Bromance
by Bethany Lozier
Drake surprised the crowd at his Detroit concert by bringing out the king of rap himself, Eminem. If this isn’t the utimate rap royalty pairing, then we’re losing it.
Guess who’s back, back again? Shady’s back, tell a friend––but Drake apparently already knew Eminem was lurking around the rap legend’s native Detroit.
Drizzy’s currently on his Summer Sixteen tour, and on August 16th he visited the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. As every dedicted rap fan knows, Detroit is holy ground as Eminem’s home, but we doubt even the most devoted of fans were exepcting the surprise Drake had planned.
The two rappers have shared a high-profile bromance ever since their joint 2009 hit “Forever,” which was Eminem’s cue to jump the stage last night and join Drizzy. You can watch the recording below:

In the video, Drizzy can be heard calling Eminem “the greatest rapper to ever get on the mothereffing microphone.” Eminem quickly returned the love, responding “it’s an honor to share the stage with this man right here.”
Awww, it seems the two genuinely respect one another’s greatness, and nothing’s better than artists supporting each other’s work.
To commemorate their joint appearance, Drake posted this photo to his Instagram last night.
Wow, referring to Eminem as the GOAT (read: Greatest Of All Time) is perhaps the highest compliment Shady could receive from a fellow rapper. We’d say Drizzy is paying his dues in proper fashion, but maybe Eminem should adopt the former’s attitude and take a page from his lyric book as well.
Eminem may go down in history as one of the best hip-hop artists of all time, but his notorious and violent lyrical tendencies towards women will forever taint his reputation in our eyes. Don’t cross Shady, or he’s going to throw some serious shade at you––but maybe this rap bromance with Drake will benefit Eminem in the long run.
Regardless, we’re losing ourselves over this rap royalty pairing.
