Who Said It: Donald Trump or Kanye West?

This may be the hardest quiz you ever take.

Although Donald Trump and Kanye West are worlds apart, they have a few things in common—like their track record of outrageous quotes. The Republican candidate has evolved from a ridiculous joke to a front-runner for president, so it’s only necessary that we take a look at some of his best (or maybe we should say “worst”) quotes. And while we’re at it, why not throw in a little Kanye, too? Just for shits n’ gigs. See if you can decipher which quotes are Kanye and which are Trump. It’s harder than it sounds.

“I’m like a vessel, and God has chosen me to be the voice and the connector.”
— Kanye West (The Fader, December 2008)

Kanye loves bragging about his God-given talents. Yet, we could also see Trump saying something like this. Maybe they’re more similar than we thought.

“It is very hard for them to attack me on looks, because I am so good looking”
— Donald Trump (Interview with NBC)

Apparently Trump is too “good looking” for insults. Both he and Kanye aren’t phased by the haters—the thousands and thousands of them.

“My Twitter has become so powerful that I can actually make my enemies tell the truth.”

— Donald Trump (Twitter, 2012)

If we were your enemies, we’d say, “You’re ridiculous.” And that’s the truth. (Hey, it worked!)

“When you’re the absolute best, you get hated on the most.”
— Kanye West (Speech at the Los Angeles Trade Technical College, May 2015)

And boy, do they get hated on. In the wise words of Kanye, “There’ll always be haters, that’s the way it is.”

“Sorry, there is no STAR on the stage tonight!”
— Donald Trump (Twitter, 2015)

Sounds eerily familiar to something Kanye West has said (who could forget the T Swift Grammys incident in 2009?), but the republican candidate is actually referring to the dem debate that occurred last October.

“I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.”
— Donald Trump (Albany’s Talk Radio, April 2011)

But, do you really?

“I feel like I’m too busy writing history to read it.”

— Kanye West (Twitter, 2010)

What else can we expect from a “proud non-reader of books”? (which Kanye has used to refer to himself, FYI…)

“I am so credible and so influential and so relevant that I will change things.”
— Kanye West (The New York Times, 2013)

Okay, but really, did Donald Trump tell you to say this?

“Part of the beauty of me is that I am very rich”
— Donald Trump (ABC’s Good Morning America, 2012)

We’re starting to draw multiple similarities here… Lots of money, lots of ego, lack of hair…

“The Bible had 20, 30, 40, 50 characters in it. You don’t think that I would be one of the characters of today’s modern Bible?”
— Kanye West (Rolling Stone Magazine, 2006)

Because Kanye West is basically a modern-day Moses.

“Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again – just watch. He can do much better!”
— Donald Trump (Twitter, 2012)

For some reason, The Apprentice star got very invested in Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s relationship back in 2012, and was very obviously #TeamEdward. If we asked Kanye’s opinion, he’d probably say he’s #TeamKanye.
