Barack Obama knows what's up!
The Prez recently found himself talking about body issues and he said that he "appreciates" his wife's sexy curves! Michelle Obama is very fit, but her body isn't petite — and that is something that Barack is totally okay with! According to the New York Daily News, the POTUS sat down for an interview where he discussed the ever-changing definition of beauty.
"The fact that [daughters Sasha and Malia] have got a tall gorgeous mom who has some curves, and that their father appreciates [it], I think is helpful. I do think that culture's changing for the younger generation a little bit more," Obama said. "When you're a dad of two daughters you notice more. When I was a kid, I didn't realize ... the enormous pressure that young women are placed under in terms of looking a certain way," the President added.
Barack Obama says that he sees the world changing and that he realizes that role models for young people have evolved over time. His daughters have spent the past eight years of their lives living in the White House and during those influential years, the girls have seen changes too. Now, there are more options for "beautiful" and there's a broader umbrella that encompasses the definition where more kids can fit in.
"You see Beyoncé or you see some of these pop stars and what ... white, Latino, black children are seeing as representative of beauty is much broader than it was when I was a kid. You just didn't see that much representation," Barack added.
Of course, Michelle Obama has always been a proponent of kids eating healthy and staying fit. She started her "Let's Move!" campaign just after becoming the First Lady and encourages school-aged children to stay active and to make smart choices when it comes to eating.
According to Us Weekly, Barack Obama knows that feeling beautiful is something that kids struggle with, especially teenage girls; it's something that he has witnessed first hand. He really loves that his wife is great role model for his daughters and for other kids because she doesn't exemplify the stereotypical definition of the word "perfect." What do you think of President Obama's comments on what it means to be beautiful?
