Keeping up with Kendall Jenner just got a lot more difficult.
On Sunday, followers who went to her Instagram page found that the 21-year-old's account was totally MIA, and with no mention of it beforehand from the model, this obviously came as quite the surprise.
However, two days after her Insta-disappearance, Jenner told Ellen DeGeneres of her decision to have a little detox from the app.
"I felt like—I just wanted a little bit of a break," she told DeGeneres. "I'm always on it. I feel—I would wake up in the morning, and I would look at it first thing. I would go to bed, and it was the last thing that I would look at. It just, I felt a little too dependent on it. I kind of wanted to take a minute; it's a detox. I'll be back! I'll come back."
The celeb had also reportedly temporarily taken the Twitter app off of her phone, so she hadn't even realized that anyone was even talking about it until some of her friends and family reportedly sent her links to CNN and other news channels that had covered it.
"I was like, 'why is this even this big of a deal?'" Jenner told DeGeneres.
While we obviously miss the 21-year-old's social media presence (yes, even though it's only been two days), we wholeheartedly admire her decision to step away from constantly being connected for a bit! In fact, we could all probably use a little more of that.
"I'm away from my phone so much more. You start to engage in real life more, and you have to deal with real people right in front of you," Jenner expressed.
Thank you for reminding us of the importance to be present in our own lives and less in the lives of who we follow on social media. We love you, Kendall!
