Kim Kardashian Was Robbed At Gunpoint In Shocking Late-Night Attack In Paris

Five masked men dressed as police officers stole millions of dollars worth of jewelry from the reality star, while she 'begged for her life.'

According to French officials, five men dressed as police officers robbed Kim Kardashian West at gunpoint in Paris, leaving her tied up in the bathroom of her private apartment after stealing a reported $10 million worth of jewelry.

The men entered the building armed and wearing ski masks between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., after forcing a concierge of the building to let them in. Handcuffed and at gunpoint, he led two of the men to Kardashian's flat, and the Daily Mail reports the employee was later found bound and gagged in the stairwell of the building. The star's personal security detail was photographed with sister Kourtney Kardashian at a Paris club during the time of the attack, meaning she had been left without her bodyguard after returning to the apartment after dinner with friends.

According to CNN, the starlet reportedly "begged for her life" while telling the men she had two children at home as they held a gun to her head. Though the robbers did not fire their weapons or harm anyone during the incident, a spokeswoman for Kardashian said the celebrity was "badly shaken." And understandably so.

Sources say most of the possessions the perpetrators stole were personal ones—not just jewels Kardashian borrowed throughout Paris Fashion Week. They took a jewelry box worth $6 million and another ring worth about $4.5 million. The ring is rumored to be the 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring she was gifted by her husband, Kanye West. Her last Snapchat before the incident showed her wearing the sparkler, and she was photographed at the airport later without it on her finger.

Kardashian had posted multiple selfies to social media throughout Paris Fashion Week decked out in an assortment of flashy gems, including a diamond grill designed by Dolly Cohen.

They also took both of her smart phones, which are said to contain a lot of private information that could be detrimental to the reality star and many of her celebrity friends.

Kanye was in the middle of a performance at The Meadows music festival in New York when an aide came on stage to update him about the incident. A Twitter user at the event posted the following on his social media page:

West abruptly left the stage while in the middle of performing his 2008 hit "Heartless" to be with his family.

In the hours following, celebrities have since turned to Twitter to share their support for the reality star.

Chrissy Teigan also took to Twitter and posted the following after a user asked if people should feel sorry for Kardashian.

In light of the recent attacks on both Kim and Gigi Hadid, it seems like it might be time to address security issues faced by celebs, especially in the age of social media––when potential attackers can more easily find out about the whereabouts and patterns of the rich and famous.

"I condemn the attack Kim Kardashian suffered last night in her hotel," said Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo. "She has my support and will always be welcome here in Paris. I have full confidence that the police force, as part of their investigation, will quickly identify and apprehend the perpetrators of these acts."
