Sometimes all you need is a little something spooky to get into the Halloween spirit, and these podcasts are sure to send chills up your spine.

With our (arguably) favorite holiday just around the corner, we are finding any and every way to help get us into the Halloween spirit. Sure, Halloween movies are great, but we found some of the best podcasts and podcast episodes to get you into the spooky spirit — and chill you to the bone while they're at it.

They may not be Serial, but they're just as addictive.

1. Welcome To Night Vale:

Welcome To Night Vale is a bi-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police that detail mysterious lights in the night sky and dark hooded figures with unknowable powers. It's got loads of humor, but scares as well — and it's absolutely addictive.

2. The Black Tapes

This podcast has been dubbed by fans as "a kind of horror spoof of the podcast Serial," and it's all about a fictional investigator who's looking into the "Strand Institute," attempting to explain the paranormal happenings.

3. Limetown

This faux documentary-style podcast is a mystery drama: 10 years ago, more than 300 men, women, and children disappeared from a small town in Tennessee. Where did they go? This seven-part series is a haunting Halloween favorite.

Listen to Limetown here.

4. Knifepoint Horror

The podcast has been praised for the bare bones nature of it — the stripped down narration makes these tales of the eerie supernatural seem so scary believable.

5. The NoSleep Podcast

This creepy as heck podcast's website says it all: "Don't forget... these are horror stories that are intended to frighten and disturb." The original stories they share are enough to keep you up at night — but you won't want to stop listening. It's an anthology series, too, so you can listen to any, in any order, as they grab your interest.

Listen to NoSleep here.

6. Lore

The podcast's motto is: "Sometimes the truth is more frightening than fiction," and we can only agree. Lore explores history through the people and places of our wildest nightmares.

7. We're Alive

We're Alive is an eerie take on the classic Halloween tale. The podcast takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where survivors have to band together to make it out alive. It's creepy and utterly spine-tingling.
