Putting an outfit together can be a true work of art, but this Instagrammer has taken it to an entirely new level.
Michelle Satterlee, the woman behind the Instagram account Dressed To Match (@dressedtomatch), has combined her two passions to create a fun page that shows off her outfits next to matching pieces of art, and her creativity is seriously impressive!
Go visit your local art museum and make sure you're #dressedtomatch for the occasion! ❤️🎨 I'm #blendingin with Ellsworth Kelly at @sfmoma in @stjohnknits . Hello everyone! 👋🏻 I'm Michelle and I started this page as my passion project. I love art and fashion and there's nothing better than combining the two! Thank you, to every one of my followers, old and new, for supporting the cause! 👉🏻 Tag #dressedtomatch to be featured!
The Sacramento-based art gallery director describes the page as a passion project for herself, that began accidentally in 2013. In an interview with Fashionista she explained the hilarious memory of realizing that she had coincidentally matched her dress to a piece of art at a gallery opening.
"I can't tell you how many people were obsessed with the idea that I somehow had coincidentally matched this piece," she told Fashionista. "It was a really fun talking point."
After intentionally wearing similar pieces the years following the event, she officially launched Dress To Match by September 2015.
One glance at her page of blending into pieces that range from prestigious museum galleries to pieces throughout the community will be all it takes to realize why this account has attracted over 10K followers.
Satterlee's love for art and fashion is fostering a community of people who feel the same and who appreciate both of these topics in the same way she does.
"There are artists I admire and love," Satterlee told Fashionista. "And to be able to make a match within their work is like forming a unique connection that you don't get from just admiring it."
