20 Ways To Upgrade Your UGGs This Fall And Winter
by Alyssa Priebe
UGGs may be one of the comfiest boots ever invented. However, instead of going back to the black leggings and puffy vest basics of 2015, try one of these bloggers’ looks and amp up your favorite footwear this season.
Long Boots, Loose Shorts
Michelle from Take Aim shows you how to transform your favorite summer staple into a fabulous fall outfit. The trick is all about the height. Pair loose shorts with longer boots and an over-sized sweater.
For a different look than traditional tan boots, take a page from the Initials.la: give a pair of UGG wedges a try. They will instantly elevate any style while still keeping your feet nice and cozy.
LBD + Cardigan
Ally Bing combines all your staples: tights, LBD, UGGs and a cardigan into one strong outfit. Wear this out with the girls or for date night. Be sure to choose a contrasting color for the cardigan so you don’t blend into the background.
Long Sweater + Cute Hat
Long sweaters were meant for UGG boots. Or maybe it’s the other way around? Either way, there’s no denying they are a perfect pair. This particular look from Alpine Style also adds splashes of red for a more playful look, which will help you show more of your personality.
Think you can’t wear brown with black? Wrong. Brighton, the blogger behind Brighton the Day, shows you just how to pair the two neutrals together. Bonus: these UGGs fold down so you get two pairs in one!
Roll With It
Jacqueline Mikuta looks effortlessly chic in her UGGs ensemble. Recreate her look with a white sweater, boyfriend jeans and black floppy hat. To get the cuff: roll small sections of jeans up, stopping just above the boots.
Make your UGGs work with the ’70s revival with a long vest and floppy hats. We appreciate the color choices in this outfit from Glam Radar. However, if you don’t have a vest that matches your boots, you can always choose a neutral. Just don’t forget your favorite floppy hat.
Blazer and Cardigan Combo
From the streets to the office, the versatility of this look is endless. With a cardigan and blazer you’ll look professional, but stay comfortable like Jane from Sea of Shoes in your fav boots.
Take a style lesson from Natalie, blogger of Trendy Taste and instantly upgrade your boots with matching neutrals. Wearing black-on-black garments with brown accessories gives your look an instant, sophisticated vibe.
Blanket Scarf + Hat
One of the best parts of fall (besides pumpkin spice): blanket scarves. We love them. They can be transformed into vests like they did on But First, Coffee, or you can tie them around your neck. Either way, blanket scarf + boots = one warm, stylish you.
Slip into your favorite ripped jeans and slouchy UGGs for a more casual appearance. Rowan Reiding the blogger of Red Reiding Hood, paired hers with a slouchy T-shirt and black leather jacket. We are obsessed with how effortlessly cool it came off. Try it out for yourself, you’ll be glad you did.
Natalie from Trendy Taste came up with this flirtatious combo and we are obsessed. Get the look yourself with a plaid mini, gray tights and black slouchy sweater. Oh, and don’t forget a gorgeous statement necklace. People won’t even believe you’re wearing UGGs when the rest of you looks so chic.
Turn heads everywhere you go in all-white attire. Sure, it takes serious bravery to wear all white, especially when one slice of pizza or morning coffee could ruin everything, but if you’re up for the challenge like Rach from Pink Peonies, you definitely won’t regret it.
We never would’ve guessed Lindsey from Blog Lovin’ was wearing UGGs, but sure enough, those gray boots come from the Australian company. Recreate this style with a hot pink sweater (or you could try yellow), your favorite skinnies and an over-sized purse.
Keep it Neutral
Helena, aka the Brooklyn Blonde, looks effortlessly chic in her tan sweater and brown UGG boots. She appears to be chilling in the woods, but if it’s a camping trip you’re off too, we recommend sticking with black or denim over white.
Ripped jeans are all the rage and popular fashion blogger Jillian Harris paired hers with folded UGG boots for a look that’s both comfortable and stylish. Recreate her ensemble with ripped jeans (obvs), a blanket scarf, and black T-shirt (or long-sleeve shirt when the weather drops below 50 degrees.)
Sweater + Cardigan
Alyson from Sequins and Things knows a thing or two about stylish outerwear. Learn from her and pair an elongated cowl neck with black leggings and a cardigan. Oh and of course, tall black UGGs. Because warm feet are happy feet.
Swap out your traditional black leggings with a pair of pleather ones like Anna. Trust us, you will instantly feel more sophisticated when leaving the house. Plus, they totally match any color or style of UGGs, making them one of your most versatile fall essentials.
Plaid Button Up
Alexandra proves on her blog, Lovely Pepa, that even your favorite plaid button up can work with UGGs. Simply tuck it in to your jeans and toss on a tan over coat. Viola: instant style, you go girl.
Sweater Dress + Pattern Scarf
We gotta say Jillian Harris nailed it with this black sweater dress and white blanket scarf. Just be sure your dress hits at the knee and your boots fall about an inch below for a playfully flirty look that shows just the right peek of skin.
