Alert! Moschino and H&M Will Team Up For The Affordable Collection Of Your Dreams
Dust off that credit card: Moschino [tv] H&M collab will include men’s and women’s clothing and accessories.
You can make your Christmas wish list early this year, because Moschino and H&M are joining forces for a show-stopping new line. Launching November 8, Moschino [tv] H&M will include women’s and men’s clothing and accessories—and the items range from only $25 to $200. We, and the rest of the world, are of course going bananas at the news.
"I am so excited about Moschino [tv] H&M," said Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino, to British Vogue. "My life’s work has been to connect with people through fashion, and with this collaboration I’ll be able to reach more of my fans than I’ve ever had the ability to do."
H&M announced the new partnership at—where else?—Coachella, with a little help from Gigi Hadid. According to British Vogue, Hadid video called Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott during his annual party at the music festival dressed in one of the new looks from the H&M collab.
H&M and Moschino and an endorsement from street style superstar Gigi Hadid? Could we be any more excited? Well, yes: Are you seeing the look Gigi is rocking? In typical Moschino fashion, it’s so playful and fun. Come on, who else would think a throwback CD print? And if this style is any indication of what else is to come, we’re going to have to prepare our credit cards for overuse.
Scott has spilled a few more details in his Vogue interview about pieces—part of an approximate 45-piece womenswear collection—we can expect.
“There’s a silver sequinned parka dress,” he said. “Denim pieces are all twisted into something else. Puffers and jackets are reconfigured into cropped things or double-long things. There’s a sportswear-with-evening kind of feeling, like a hockey jersey with a train.”
Anne-Sofie Johansson, H&M's creative advisor, added that the new collaborative line combines “pop, street culture, logos, and also glamour.”
“You know, this collaboration in particular—it really is this twinkle in the eye, so to speak. The fun of fashion. There’s so much energy—it puts a smile on your face,” she said to Vogue.
And remember that Instagram famous biker jacket bag? Scott teases that Moschino [tv] H&M will include a nod to the style that broke the internet.
“We’re doing the tiniest biker bag ever. I love it. It could be a necklace. It could just hold a lighter, or nothing. I tried it for Moschino, but we didn’t produce it, and I was like, ‘She’s the one that gets to come back,” Scott said.
As if you’re not already convinced, Scott is sure you’re going to be hooked on his latest collab.
“Like all my collections, it’s humour meets haute couture meets the street. That’s been a hallmark of my work for Moschino, and I want to continue to explore that with this collection,” Scott says on H&M’s site. For fans of the brand, it should feel a little like a greatest hits collection, but I promise it will still be new, still feel fresh, even as we include some winks, some hints from the past."
