DIY Earrings: Chevron Dangles
From prints to decor to jewelry, geometric shapes show up everywhere these days. We love the trend because a simple geometric jewelry piece is the perfect companion to any minimalist look. Take these DIY earrings for example; they are perfectly chic, versatile, and inexpensive.
With all the proper materials, you can make these DIY earrings yours, and with a little bit of creativity, you can make them uniquely your own. Like all DIY projects, these chevron dangle earrings are easy to customize—simply mix up the chevron shapes you choose. I went with a two-tone mix of yellow and silver, but you can use anything you find on Etsy or at your local crafts store.
1. If you're using multiple chevron or geometric pieces, start by attaching them together with jump rings. Use your needle-nose pliers to do so. Repeat this as many times as necessary to complete your design. I attached two chevron pieces together here.
2. Next, connect two lengths of chain to your chevron pieces with jump rings. Using wire cutters, cut them to the length you want. The length of your chain will determine the overall length of your earring. This is totally up to you, but the two chains should probably be the same length.
3. Now, connect both of your chain pieces, using a bigger jump ring. But don't close it yet!
4. Add your French wire hook to the jump ring before squeezing it shut. Then, make a second earring to match!
