Spliced T-Shirts Let You DIY The Grunge Look In The Best Way

Spliced T-shirts are the badass new DIY trend that'll have you ringing in the new year in style.

T-shirt DIYs are not new by any means. Whether you're refashioning an oversized tee with a pair of shears, creating your very own graphic tee with a photo transfer, or even decking a vintage tee with patches and pins, there is a multitude of ways to make a tee your own.

However, the newest DIY tee trend we'll be bringing into 2017 is pretty freaking amazing: spliced T-shirts. And let's just say, the opportunities are endless. While they may seem to be the next big trend to buy, with retailers like River Island and Topshop jumping on the trend, trust us — they're just as easy to DIY.

All you'll need are two T-shirts to, well, splice. Pick out two tees that blend well together or totally clash—both will make a statement, we promise. Then grab a needle and thread or sewing machine to combine the two shirts down the middle. The easiest way to connect the two? Pin the shirts in place, and sew the two together from there.

This look screams for a bit of grunge-inspired accessorizing — whether that be unclean threading lines, singeing, patches, or pins—feel free to deck it out as you please.

Of course, if you're not down to DIY or pay through-the-roof for something designer, there are plenty of retailers that offer ways to rock the spliced trend.
