In honor of New York Fashion Week a few weeks ago, I was inspired to talk all-black ensembles. When I think of Fashion Week and New York street style I immediately think of black—plus it's a chic fall trend. Black is sophisticated without trying too hard, and I think that pretty much sums up New York if you ask me. The Big Apple is so magical and the fashion is so inspiring, yet the crazy thing about it all, everyone is in black! It just goes to show, an all-black power suit is not just for the office, it can work for any occasion.
We all know black is flattering, but it’s also extremely versatile especially when it’s done head to toe. You can wear it to the office, to brunch with the girls, dress it up or dress it down. You really can’t go wrong. This is probably the one instance where I think anything goes. Experiment with different textures, try new trends, or pair unexpected pieces together. If you’re hesitant to try some of the latest trends like a peplum sweater, coated jeans, or a varsity jacket, create a head-to-toe black look and I promise you’ll pull it off!
Here are two different ways to get the all-black look with some of the most basics pieces you probably already have in your closet. Whether you’re experimenting with a fun piece or you stick to the basics, all-black outfits are a no-fail option for any occasion.
