9 Budget-Friendly Swimsuits That Rival Solid & Striped
Shop Story

The celeb-favorite swimwear brand Solid & Striped, worn by the likes of Gigi Hadid, Lea Michele, and Taylor Swift, has been breaking the internet with its selection of simple but flattering (you guessed it) solid and striped swimsuits. To save you and your bank account the trouble, we scoured our favorite retailers for near identical duplicates at half the price.

The Celeb-Favorite Swim Brand

Here’s the thing about Solid & Striped swimwear: There’s nothing overtly unique about the silhouettes, colors, or even patterns (I mean, come on, stripes have been around forever). What the brand is known for is classic styles reinvented for the worldly, modern woman and her spontaneous summer adventures. Not to mention the finest fabrics sourced from all around the world so you can wear the same luxury suit for summers to come. But not everyone has the funds to put down well over $150 for one waterproof wonder, so we went to our favorite moderately-priced retailers in search of budget-friendly swimsuits in similar colors, patterns, and styles.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Chelsea

This Solid & Striped spaghetti strap one-piece gives a sexy update to the classic style with a cheeky bum and low-cut back. Adjustable straps also let you fit the suit to your body type—long torso, short torso, whatever you’re working with—so you can look your best strutting your stuff on the boardwalk. Take your pick between a selection of icy blue, lipstick red, and mustard yellow striped suits or rock a solid black on your next tropical trip.

Save: Topshop Stripe One-Piece Swimsuit

Lucky for you, we found a near identical duplicate that is less than one third of the designer price tag and could give this famed suit a run for its sunbathing money. Topshop’s Stripe One-Piece Swimsuit offers the same vertical stripe as The Chelsea, but with a less cheeky cut that’s a bit more appropriate for family vacations. Alternating crimson and the ever-trendy lavender make this one suit you’ll want to lay out in all summer.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Nina

It’s safe to say Solid & Striped was at the forefront of the belted swimsuit movement with The Nina one-piece reminiscent of retro beach days. Actress Olivia Wilde is a personal fan of the all black version with a silver buckle, but we prefer a little pop of color with the red, white, and blue belt looped around the waist, perfect for all of your Fourth of July activities.

Save: SheIn Belted Swimsuit

You read that right—$12! Are we really that surprised though? By some fashion miracle, SheIn always happens to have the must-have styles at ridiculously affordable prices. This budget-friendly one-piece has everything, from the ribbed fabric, scoop neckline, and patriotic striped belt, to fool everyone into thinking you’re rocking the OG belted swimsuit brand.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Wendy

Solid & Striped’s The Wendy is the ultimate sunbathing bikini with a string halter top tie that’s easy to shed at the first sight of sun. Simple sporty bottoms keep the look clean with no side ties to get in the way of slipping into your favorite pair of shorts when it’s time to leave the sand. But if you’re not ready to splurge, this look can surely be achieved for less than $166.

Save: Forever 21 Multicolor Striped Bikini

Enter: Forever 21 to save the day (and your summer fun fund). With a similar color palette of reds, blues, and yellows, a triangle-cut bikini top, and thin stringy straps, we can overlook the slight differences—namely the high-waisted bikini bottoms—while keeping nearly $134 in our bank account. Truth be told, we find the high-waisted cut more flattering anyway.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Cora

This little bikini was made for women who want a little extra boost when it comes to their bust. The Cora’s tiny bralette top is like a push-up bra without uncomfortable underwire—just clean seams and adjustable straps so you can dive in worry-free. The high-waisted bottoms are universally flattering and have a waist tie to cinch in your waist even more.

Save: Forever 21 Ribbed Contrast Bikini

What if we told you we found a near identical dupe for the Solid & Striped tie bikini at a fourth of the price? You better believe it—Forever 21’s Ribbed Contrast Bikini is a high-waisted swimsuit that will give you curves you didn’t even know you had. The tie up top acts as a natural push-up while the bottoms draw in your waist to give you that dreamy hourglass shape at a price that’s much more ideal.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Anne-Marie

The Anne is the tried-and-true one-piece that will never go out of style, making it worth the investment. Hailey Baldwin, Lily Aldridge, and Gigi Hadid certainly think so. A revealing high-cut hip gives you legs for days while a low neckline and scoop back make this swimsuit anything but conservative. With nine different stripe and colorway options, you will surely find your summer style if Paradise Stripe isn’t your vibe.

Save: SheIn Striped Backless One-Piece

This SheIn swimsuit has the same one-piece silhouette and vertical stripe pattern as the much more expensive Solid & Striped version. What’s there to think about? At $9 and with more than 150 reviews and a stunning 4.2 star rating, we’re convinced this swimsuit is almost too good to be true. But pictures and many glowing reviews backup this lookalike’s striking resemblance. We’re sold!

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Elle

The Elle is another celeb-fave suit from Solid & Striped, with model Hailey Baldwin owning not one but two of these no-frill bikinis in Pop Yellow and Pop Azalea. This sporty swimsuit features wide straps and full-coverage bottoms that won’t ride up. Though this swimsuit style could be considered a summer staple it doesn’t look as good on our credit card bill.

Save: Ivyrevel Stripe Bikini

Luckily, we found the two-piece equivalent from Asos. The Ivyrevel Stripe Bikini, a.k.a. our next swimsuit purchase, offers the same scoop neck top, wide straps and all. The hipster bikini keeps the sporty style, but really brings the booty with a cheeky Brazilian cut. Just add water and you’re ready to soak up the sun with a drink in hand, thanks to the extra $90 in your bank account.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Audrey

After a long hiatus, the bandeau top is back and ready to play this summer. Solid & Striped’s seersucker version of the trend gives us major Audrey Hepburn vibes, in part due to the ruffle-trimmed top and sweet striped pattern. Flirty bloomer bottoms add an air of innocence to this ’50s-esque bikini, while rainbow stripes make it anything if not modern.

Save: Topshop Checked Bardot Bikini

Though these bikinis aren’t mirror reflections, don’t let the slight differences distract you. This budget-friendly Topshop swimsuit has the same retro feel with a checkered bandeau bardot top and sweet frill bottoms. For less than half the price of the name brand suit, you get the same stylish two-piece and the satisfaction of cashing in on this amazing find.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Michelle

A sexier version of the classic Anne-Marie silhouette, The Michelle shows off a bit more cleavage with a plunging neckline and back to match. The trendy high-cut hip lets your legs do the talking as you strut poolside. Choose between nine solid and striped options—including a classic Baywatch red—to wear during your summer off hours.

Save: Forever 21 Striped Halter Plunging One-Piece

This Forever 21 one-piece swimsuit is a close match to the Solid & Striped The Michelle, the only real difference being the chevron pattern, not to mention the extra cash flow in your bank account. The plunging neckline is supported with a comfortable halter strap, so larger-chested ladies can take advantage of this deal just as well. You could even pair this one-piece with your favorite high-waisted jeans for a sexy night out look. We won’t tell.

Splurge: Solid & Striped The Kelsey

Simple in design and pattern and self-lined to prevent sheerness, The Kelsey is the only one-piece we want to live in this summer. The flattering keyhole cutout and tie gives a bit of extra cleavage for those who need (or want) it. We’re a huge fan of the neutral mocha shade, but you can take your pick between eight other solid options to match your beach wardrobe.

Save: Loverbird Tie Front One-Piece Swimsuit

Looking at this Loverbird swimsuit made us do a double take. Between the nude color, front tie, and keyhole cutout, these suits are almost exactly the same. Aside from slight ruching on the cups and adjustable crisscross straps, this PacSun find will definitely be mistaken for The Michelle. If you’re smart, you won’t correct them, knowing full well that you paid half the price of the Striped & Solid style. Excuse us as we add to our swimsuit collection.
