Best Wardrobe Pieces to Invest In for Spring 2015
It's time to start thinking of the best wardrobe pieces for Spring 2015. With New York Fashion Week on our minds, we wanted to share some must-have styles straight from the runway. After all, fashion is always a season ahead. Click through for the eight pieces we think you'll want to own for spring.
For Spring 2015, we’re seeing a throwback style like never before: flared denim jeans! This style can be worn with a casual V-neck or a feminine printed blouse. Just remember to always wear a pair of heels with the style. (Our favorite was from the Coach presentation.)
The Long Tank
Crop tops are still big for Spring ’15, but we’re glad to see a different style thrown into the mix. Extra long tanks worn loosely over pencil skirts were big on the runways at Calvin Klein and Tory Burch.
Skirts with Slits
Pencil skirts are hotter than ever for Spring ’15 thanks to a sexy thigh-high slit. Of course your slits don’t need to be as high as these looks, but we love to show a great leg! Jason Wu shows us that slits can be tasteful.
The Midi Dress
The full midi skirt has been all the rage. This season, we look forward to the midi dress. We saw this familiar style at the Donna Karan and Michael Kors runways. Channeling your inner Audrey Hepburn has never been so easy!
Designers added a bit of sex appeal this season with off-the-shoulder tops and dresses. Nanette Lepore, Lela Rose, and Zac Posen celebrated bare shoulders and defined collarbones. Ladies, this is a great way to show the right amount of skin!
Trench coats? For spring? Yes! We saw trenches in pretty pastels, funky prints, and lightweight fabrics. Keep in mind that your spring coat is different from your winter coat. We love Suno’s powder blue trench with judo tie, which is also a major trend.
The classic white shirt is a staple in all our closets. On the NYFW Spring '15 runway, we saw a big variety, including cropped white button-ups, oversized versions, and fitted tops. Mara Hoffman conveyed a desert dream with this all-white crisp look.
Curvy girls, rejoice! The cinched waist belt is back. Leather and fabric tie belts were seen on the Michael Kors, Karen Walker, and—of course—Diane von Furstenberg shows. Many featured a judo tie, and we can’t wait to stock up on a rainbow of colors!
