Go for the Gold in Olympics Fashion
This year the Olympic stage is London, England. There is no better stage than this for our most treasured universal athletic competition. London is truly a global city as a center of finance, commerce, arts, media and culture. Of course, it is also a fashion capitol…something we can sincerely appreciate as we are on the hunt for Olympics fashion!
This Olympic stage includes something for everyone. History buffs will be enraptured by the colorful stories of London’s past. Royal watchers will be delighted watching Kate, William, Harry and all of their favorite Royals in their preferred event seating around town. Fashionistas will note what the Royals are wearing in hopes of spotting Kate’s latest trend (the THRILL of victory) or catching one of the two princesses (Beatrice or Eugenie) in some elaborate, if potentially unattractive, fascinator or unusual ensemble (the agony ofdefeat?). Sports fans will find glory in weeks of unparalleled athletic competition on the world’s stage.
(Oh, and the little girls in all of us will revel in the gymnastics! And the women world-wide will be engrossed in the swimming…men’s swimming, in particular….for the thrill of the…sport, oh yes, that’s it…the sport!)
The Olympics emerse us in another country for two weeks worth of intensive study. We are enthralled by Opening Ceremonies that literally take our breath away. The creators of these ceremonies focus on telling their country’s unique story in glorious productions. We get a taste of their history, arts, culture and even fashion. Looking back we see (exemplified above) fashion styles inspired by former Olympic host cities. Global fashion…how styles vary from cities such as Barcelona, Sydney, Athens and Beijing. A little flavor of these cities this summer move you a little closer to gaining an Olympic style and fervor for the games!
Speaking of fervor…U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A! While we may appreciate the wonders of London, we may respect the cultures and efforts of competitors from other countries the bottom line is we’re all big hearted Americans looking to bring home the Gold to the good, old US of A! Now’s the perfect time to indulge in a little flag-inspired Olympics fashion! No, those lips are NOT on a t-shirt…they are a temporary tattoo (Violent Lips Temporary Lip Tattoos – Flags) lasting from 4-8 hours. Move over face painters there’s a new game in town (and, although riveting, also kind of, a little…interesting…ah yes, it is that…)! Stand up for America – love the legs in Rockstar American Flag Print Denim Shorts, so cool – Pretty Polly USA Flag tights, or show them off with Liberty Platform wedge heels! Casual supporters might prefer Old Navy 2012′ Flag Tanks (red), Women’s Team USA® Raglan Tees, Ralph Lauren Team USA Olympic Tank (Lauren may be the biggest Olympic style supporter with an entire catalog of USA Olympic offerings). Olympic style is incomplete without accessories ~ wallet or Cross-Body Bucket Bag.
