One of the more festive winter fashion trends I love is the reemergence of jacquard fabrics. The texture, shine, and colors scream holiday cheer, and when you get it right, it’s absolutely stunning! However, since we don’t see this embroidered material year round and are not as familiar with the style, jacquard can be hard to work into our existing wardrobes. So, today I’m going to explain how to pair one of the prettiest winter trends with what’s already in our closets!

The trick to making jacquard work is to make it the focal point of your outfit and build around it. Skirts, pants, and dresses are a great way to incorporate the trend with your existing wardrobe and are versatile enough to wear to work, holiday parties, and even a night out. Since most jacquard pieces are bold, I like to balance out the outfit with neutrals or basics. For instance, Jean from Extra Petite paired her metallic jacquard skirt with a black sweater and neutral leather jacket and Yara from This Chic’s Got Style pairs her fun gold jacquard trousers with a comfy sweatshirt. If you do decide to go bold with color, I suggest going monochromatic like Blair from Atlantic-Pacific. By wearing all red tones, Blair keeps her outfit streamlined and avoids looking too busy.
Whether you have a holiday party coming up or just want to look festive during the holiday season, you can’t go wrong with jacquard. Embroidered metallics, I mean, how can you say no?
