Fashion Week comes to a close today leaving us excited for fall 2014 trends. Now that our interest has been piqued by the new color palettes and innovative designs shown in New York, we’re eager to see what will walk the runways of Milan, Paris and London later this year.

Today was a great end to New York Fashion Week with several A-list designers previewing their fall 2014 collections. Our favorite part of the day: the colors. An assortment of the girliest pastels, lustrous jewel tones and futuristic neon’s graced the runways. While we’re sad NYFW is over, we’re excited to start working these trends into our wardrobe. Check out a few standout collections of the day: 

Ralph Lauren
The Ralph Lauren show took us to two very different places—the first to everyday fall favorites from his new polo collection and the second to his signature, more luxurious line. The show started with fall florals, traditional plaids and Aztec patterns in basics to suit an active, everyday lifestyle. While we love an all-encompassing show, the standout pieces were from his luxe line that evoked an entirely different mood. His signature collection took a more minimalistic design approach in cashmere, fur, suede and other high-end fabrics. The color palette changed drastically into muted shades of whites, grays, pinks and lilac. The line oozed with fluidity in monochromatic looks of capes, tailored suits, flowy strapless gowns, and retro diva furs. The line is so elegant and beautiful—definitely a contender for top show of the day. 

J.Mendel
Giles Mendel hit it out of the park with his fall 2014 collection. The show began with the sickest of furs contorted into an array of multicolored styles. The line was a combination of oxblood, black, white, blues and the prettiest pops of green. The finale of dresses was our favorite part of the show with criss-cross draping covering the bare minimum above the waist, and full and flowing gown-like bottoms below. 

T by Alexander Wang
Sporty basics filled the T by Alexander Wang presentation. Whether you’re looking to snow ski or play football this sports-inspired line is for you. A perfect mix of comfy, causal, performance and chic, this line exudes sports luxe. The collection was filled with out-of-the-ordinary rich, wool coats, leather leggings, stylish sweatpants and chunky knits, but the most eye-catching aspects of the line were the insulated puffer pants and bright pops of neon. It’s a comfortable and trendy line we’d love to wear come fall.

Calvin Klein Collection
Designer Fransisco Costa revealed his designs for the fall 2014 Calvin Klein Collection, and true to current trends, the focus seemed to be on comfort. Sweater dresses, gorgeous cashmere coats, and striped knitwear basics dominated the collection. Aside from the standard grays, blacks, and whites there were pops of orange, red, and blue—a refreshing update for the classic brand.

Marc Jacobs
The fall 2014 Marc Jacobs collection was equal parts futuristic and minimalist. Soft blue and cream deep scoop- and v-neck dresses were followed by extremely sheer tops and wool-and-leather color- and texture-blocked riding pants. This line, with its ruffled gowns and ombre fur coats, was a much more sophisticated and mature sister to the streetwear inspired Marc by Marc Jacobs that showed the day before.
