Rihanna Shuts Down NYFW With A Powerful Savage x Fenty Show

After opting out of NYFW last season, Rihanna is back for a SS19 showing of Savage x Fenty that did not disappoint.

Queen Rih returns to New York Fashion Week after last season's hiatus with a stunning presentation of her inclusive lingerie line, Savage x Fenty. The "immersive experience" was a powerful display of body positivity and womanhood, unofficially ending NYFW, beating out Marc Jacobs for the closing act.

A series of IG teasers gave us futuristic expectations of this broadcast show, but they were unmatched to the live footage streaming through the computer screen.

Rihanna covered all the bases in this theatrical presentation, championing diversity with women of all races and body types dancing, crawling, and strutting in silky Savage x Fenty underwear.

The showing featured appearances by some of the biggest names: Gigi and Bella Hadid, Joan Smalls, Leomie Anderson, Duckie Thot, and a very pregnant Slick Woods, walking the runway in sparkly black pasties and a sexy bodysuit (mostly strings), effectlively showing off her baby bump. Staying true to the label, Rihanna's casting choices truly reflected the beauty of all women's bodies—even in pregnancy.

Inspo from the '80s did not go unnoticed with electric neons on almost every model and the occassional animal print romper walking the catwalk.

RiRi took her final bow (standing ovation) wearing a brown bodycon dress and matching headscarf, dramatically revealing her face in typical BadGal fashion. It's safe to say she did the damn thing and shut down New York Fashion Week with a powerful message of solidarity.
