Trend to Try: The Grandpa Cardigan

A must-try trend this winter is the grandpa cardigan. Don’t let the name confuse you; this fashion favorite isn’t just for Gramps anymore. Inspired by the likes of Mr. Rogers and quite possibly your own dad, this trend is not only comfy but also creates an effortlessly layered look. Throw on this piece over everything from a graphic tee to a button-up. It's a no-fail way to stay warm and trendy this winter. I love the way the bloggers below styled theirs.

Meg from Styled Avenue styled her grandpa cardigan with a sporty beanie and cutout booties. This look is the definition of effortless cool—hipster coolster as Rachel Zoe would say. Pop on a cardigan and a few key accessories and you are good to go!

Next is a super fun take on this trend. Cara Loren is wearing an awesomely puffy, blush-color grandpa cardigan that's quite the statement piece. She pulled this look together with a simple half-up, messy topknot and black sunnies.

Next up, Keiko Lynn is rocking a dressier version of this trend. I'm inspired by her combo of bright tights and a statement skirt, but love how she tones it down with the grey grandpa cardigan. She's definitely killing it. Work it girl!

Lastly is a look I posted on my blog Sincerely, Truly Scrumptious. I layered this rust-color cardigan over a simple cotton maxi for a boho look. I pulled the outfit together by adding a turban headband and fringe booties.

The best thing about this versatile trend is that any girl with any style can wear it, from boho chic to the girl next door and the glamazon down the street. It’s a trend for everyone to try. Next time you're preparing an outfit, grab a cozy oversized knit cardigan and you’ll be warm and completely on trend!
