A Guide to Fall Jackets
Summer is coming to an end and the cooler air of fall is just around the corner. Is your wardrobe ready? If you’re feeling unprepared, don’t worry. My one piece of advice is to make sure your jacket collection is up to par!
Jackets are essential for the seasonal transition. They're so easy to throw on and, in my opinion, one of the best investments you can make in your wardrobe. They can be worn in so many ways and give a new dimension to outfits. Jackets are staples and I think every woman needs four basic types in her wardrobe: a leather jacket, a tweed jacket, a denim jacket, and an embellished jacket.
I love wearing feminine embellished jackets with outfits styled with an edgier vibe—like this girly jacket with ripped jeans, a button-up shirt, and, of course, a great pair of heels!
In general, jackets are extremely versatile. They can be worn to the office with slacks, during the day with ripped jeans or shorts, and at night with skinnies or over a dress. For the summer to fall transition, I’ll be wearing my statement jackets and sweaters with skirts and shorts and then be making the shift to jeans and trousers. For an everyday causal look, I love pairing jackets with a graphic tee and my favorite sandals.
Every time I make an investment I say it’s the best thing ever, but I truly believe jackets are great pieces for every season. They can be lovely for spring with a dress and sandals, fabulous for summer with cut-off shorts, chic for fall with skirts and boots, and cozy for winter with skinnies and boots. If investing in a few jackets isn't in your fall shopping budget, I suggest investing in just one leather jacket. Leather jackets are a great option because they come in every color and style. You're sure to find the perfect one for you!
