Hot Fun in the Summertime

Okay, it’s summer and time for a closet check for gals who like to keep up-to-date current. It’s still all about the dress ladies, in every way possible including short, long, and for a fun youthful twist, tops worn as dresses. Shorts this season still are trending long to the knee, and narrow. If you haven’t patronized patent yet, you won’t ‘pass go’ with out shiny leather shoes, handbags, headbands, etc. The same for big chunky bangle bracelets … the more the merrier.

If you are in New York City, be sure to check out the “Bangle Bar” at Henri Bendel, I had a ball there last week. The patent ballet slipper either quilted or smooth is still red-hot. If you want to make it easy, shop at Scoop on-line or in New York, Dallas, Miami, or the Hamptons. They have a very sexy little shoe with a low vamp. I adore mine and have received tons of compliments on them. There are great colors including emerald green, red, bright yellow and of course black and white. They cost $165 which is pricey, but worth it!

As for the bevy of sales going on, I suggest you try to pick up some great last minute fill-ins, like t-strap sandals. They’re still great for late summer and in the south and west and you can wear t-straps into early fall.  If you see and like wedges, buy them in fall colors as they are not going away for fall.

Speaking of sales and stocking up, for New Yorkers, Rebecca Taylor is having their annual sample sale beginning Tuesday June 26th located at 336 W. 37th Street on the 11th floor. Also Catherine Malandrino’s runs June 20th-23rd located at 123 W. 18th Street.

Color including pink, peach, and turquoise, will be huge for fall this year. Come September you’ll still wear a lot of black and brown, so don’t be afraid to get a head start when you see something terrific. Spring for it and remember you can always layer.
