Desk to Date: Sundress

Is there be anything better than a sundress? Choose the right accessories and you'll be able to wear it for work and play. Here's how.

Spring is in full swing here in Arizona, and I am already wearing sundresses to work. I love the way an easy breezy sundress makes me feel. And more importantly, I love how versatile they are--a must-own item if you need your clothes to transition from work to play. I started with a long, flowy maxi. Having a change of accessories and a jacket was all it took to make this dress more wearable. Here's how I changed it up.

For my days at the office, like to keep it simple and professional (left). I added a statement necklace and a metallic belt to pull my look together. The belt is key. It gives the outfit an instant upgrade. Simple flats keep my feet happy and pair perfectly with sundresses. I always use a tote bag to carry my laptop. This also makes the look more appropriate for work.

My casual date look (right) makes for a quick transition on the go. I throw my distressed denim vest over my maxi style sundress, switch out the metallic belt for a braided leather one, and keep my jewelry simple with a long coin necklace. Instead of using a tote bag, I traded it for a brown boho side bag. The look is perfect for watching a game during Spring Training, a lunch with friends, or happy hour after work.

My best advice? Keep your look simple the next time you take a sundress from desk to date.
