Skinny Jeans: My Easy Formula for Dressing Up Skinnies

One of my all-time favorite pieces and a piece I believe should be in every person’s wardrobe, is a great pair of skinny jeans. Sometimes finding the perfect pair can take a few trips to the dressing room but don't stop trying them on until your pants make you do the happy dance!  Once you own the perfect pair of skinny jeans, try stepping outside your comfort zone by adding colored, patterned or even distressed denim into your wardrobe. Skinny jeans are offered in an endless variety. Not only should skinny jeans make you feel and look like a million bucks but they should be versatile. You should be able to throw them on with a comfy tee or sweater on a Saturday morning, and then be able to transition that whole look for a date night. Thats's the beauty of skinny jeans—they're a blank palette. Let’s get to dressing them up!

My go to look for dressing up skinny jeans calls for five ingredients:

Distressed skinny jeans: I love dressing up denim with holes in them. I think it gives the outfit character and creates the effortlessly chic look that is always in style.

A graphic printed tee: I opted for a classic black and white tee to create a more streamlined look.

A blazer: Blazers are really the key to dressing up any skinny jean. They pull together the look and make it more sophisticated.

Strappy heels: I always try to go for the minimalist look when it comes to wearing heels with skinny jeans. In my opinion, the juxtaposition of the strappy heels and ripped jeans just go together perfectly.

Accessories: OK, so technically this makes it more than five, but who's counting? I wore a statement necklace, sunglasses, and bag. I tied together all of my accessory and outfit colors to create one put-together look.
