“I’ll see it when I believe it.”
I read that quote this week and it really struck me. Obviously, we’ve heard the expression, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” But what about “I’ll see it when I believe it.”? I know that it could seem a bit hokey and “secret”-esque but it made me think. I know that in my own life it is the things that I am most hazy on that I have the hardest time bringing to fruition in my life. It’s easy to say what you want in your life but do you really believe it can happen? For example, when I was in jobs that I wasn’t happy in, I didn’t believe that it was possible to be happy in a job. I wanted to believe that it was true but deep down I didn’t believe it. Hence I moved from one job to the next that all made me unhappy. It wasn’t until I experienced work that I loved that I saw a change happen.
The obvious next question is, how do you begin to believe? Seek out examples. If it’s a happy marriage that you don’t believe is possible, find people who are in a happy marriage and talk to them about it. If it’s making a lot of money, talk to people who have been financially successful. Trust me, people love talking about themselves and would be flattered that you are taking an interest in what they’ve achieved.
Get clear on your vision for what you want in your life. And if there is something that you want and you can’t quite get there on the believing part, email me and I can help you or can put you in contact with someone who has achieved what you want.
