10 Must-Have Apps for Every Woman

Smartphones have become essential parts of our lives. We use them to communicate with others, plan our schedules, monitor our diets, track our children, and even do our banking. Here are 10 of our favorite apps that help make our lives easier.

Apps for Every Woman

If you only use your smartphone for Snapchat, Facebook, and Candy Crush, you’re seriously selling your technology short. From birth control to budgeting, there’s an app to help almost all our plans run a bit more smoothly. These are 10 of our favorites.

1. Shop Savvy (iOS, Android)

ShopSavvy lets you shop smarter. It has a barcode scanner and SKU finder that lets you get more details on a product. It also lets you know if the product you are looking at is cheaper elsewhere. My favorite part is that you can tell it what you’re looking for and it will alert you when it is on sale.

2. myPill (iOS, Android)

myPill may seem a little personal, but this program can be a lifestyle saver—forget your pill or don’t take it at the same time every day and you could find yourself with a little surprise. This handy app also let you track your cycle and lets you know when you need to pick up a new pack of pills.

3. Mint (iOS, Android, Windows)

Mint is the perfect budget management app for almost anyone. It allows you to link your bank accounts so you can monitor your spending and set a monthly budget. It also allows you to categorize your spending so you can see where your money is going.

4. Google Translate (iOS, Android, Windows)

If you travel, then GoogleTranslate is a must-have program for your smartphone. It holds 70 languages and translates via text or speech almost instantly. It may not be perfect, but it is way better than attempting to flip through a translation book.

5. 7-Minute Workout Challenge (iOS, Android)

Most of us are constantly on the go with little time to spare, which means that we almost never make it to the gym. 7-minuteworkout challenge is a great app that gives you a quick workout whenever you can find the time. It provides videos and images to ensure that you are doing the exercise correctly, and has a tracking tool to monitor your progress.

6. Wunderlist (iOS, Android, Windows)

Wunderlist is the perfect tool for every busy woman. It lets you create a list of tasks to help keep you on track. Unlike a lot of other task lists, this one lets you break down each task into subtasks and steps, giving you a comprehensive list of everything you need to do. It also allows you to share your list, which means you can assign some of it to your children or spouse.

7. Uber (iOS, Android,Windows)

Uber lets you call or schedule the taxi or car service you need when you need it. It allows you to track and rate multiple drivers. You can also use the app to pay for your trip, it will even include the tip.

8. CamCard (iOS, Android,Windows)

If you are a businessperson, then you know the problem with business cards: It takes too long to enter all the data into your email system, but if you don’t do it, then you lose the info (or the card). Camcard lets you quickly scan and organize your business cards.

9. Circle of 6 (iOS, Android)

Circle of 6 can be a lifesaver. Two taps will automatically send a message to your six chosen friends or family, letting them know you need help and where you are. It also has features for less drastic situations, allowing your friends to call and get you out of a bad date or letting them know when you just really need someone to talk to.

10. Companion (iOS, Android)

Companion lets your friends virtually walk you home and ensures that you get to your destination safely. You enter your destination, and it tracks your progress. If you start running, drop your phone, or don’t make it to your destination on time, you get a message asking if things are OK. If you don’t respond in 15 seconds, then it alerts your companions. It also has a quick feature to alert the police.
