Meet Logan Everett. With his gray eyes and brown hair, Logan gives off that perfect drummer-boy vibe, which is perfect for the band he plays in with his friend Tenney Grant, a singer-songwriter doll from Nashville, Tennessee. Both dolls will be released on Thursday, Feb. 16, and are part of the company's plans to launch a wide range of extremely diverse dolls throughout 2017.

Of course, the announcement brings back oh-so-fond memories of taking Felicity along to the grocery store, dressing Kit in her matching holiday outfit, and begging our parents to let Samantha sit at the dinner table with us. However, as much as we loved our 18-inch friends, the American Girl brand has seen an increasing interest and demand for male dolls, and we love that they have responded.

"Adding a boy to our lineup has been a number one request for a very, very, very long time," Julie Parks, director of public relations at American Girl told The Huffington Post.

Much like this British toy commercial, we applaud American Girl for their efforts at realizing that diversity matters, and that includes gender. Both girls and boys should be able to decide for themselves if they want to play with male or female dolls. By bringing Logan into the lineup, AG is giving children an important opportunity to choose that they haven't had before, and this simple move is so important.

We seriously can't wait to see what else 2017 has in store for the American Girl company!
