This Beauty Blogger Is Taking A Stand Against Makeup Shaming

Lately, it feels like you aren't allowed to love makeup without people thinking you're insecure, and NikkieTutorials is putting a stop to that madness.

It's no secret that women tend to be scrutinized no matter what they choose to do. Most of us females are no strangers to men who say they prefer women who don't wear makeup and then proceed to ask if you are "feeling okay?" when you rock a bare face. And beauty bloggers who base their livelihoods off of the power of makeup tend to feel that to an even higher degree. But beauty artist Nikkie behind the YouTube channel NikkieTutorials is taking a stand against the unfortunate trend of makeup shaming.

She starts out the video with some straight fire truths saying, "Nowadays if you say you love makeup, you either do it because they say you want to look good for boys, you do it because you're insecure, or you do it because you don't love yourself. Lately, it's almost a crime to say that you love doing your makeup."

Ugh. We feel that on such a real level. How unfair is it that we feel like we can't just love makeup because of how stinking fun it is?

Nikkie goes on to apply an all-out glam look on only half of her face, leaving the other half bare and totally natural, to show off the incredible power of makeup.

Check out the full video below, and take a look at Nikkie's YouTube channel for more of her crazy beautiful looks!

Let's all continue to step up ladies (and our makeup-loving gents, of course!). We're criticized with or without a full face on, so we might as well embrace which ever makes us feel more beautiful and accept that someone else's choice might be different from ours.
