Supermodel Breastfeeds on the Cover of Elle Australia

#NormalizeBreastfeeding

Supermodel Nicole Trunfio looked stunning on the cover of this month's Elle Australia, but not just because of her makeup and hair. Trunfio was pictured breastfeeding her new baby Zion, in an attempt to help destigmatize nursing in public.

"There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood," Trunfio writes on her Instagram. "The last thing I want to do is be controversial, so please take this for what it is, let us #normalizebreastfeeding there is nothing worse than a mother who is judged for feeding her hungry child in public." Since her post, the hashtag has exploded on Instagram and Twitter, featuring moms feeding their new babies and many reposts of the Elle cover.

There is still a long fight toward normalizing breastfeeding in public, but hopefully this cover does it's part in keeping the conversation going.

"#weareonlyhuman I'm so proud of this cover and for what it's stands for," Trunfio continues on Instagram. "I obviously don't look like this while I am breastfeeding but this stands for all women out there, whether you breastfeed or not, we gave birth, we are women, we are mothers. Thank you to ELLE for being so bold and making such an encouraging, positive and healthy statement. #womenunite"

Women unite, indeed.
