We’re all about showing your man some love, but these ladies might have taken it a little too far.

Remember when the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge took over your Facebook news feed? It was obviously very well intended, but let’s be real, you can only watch people pour cold water on themselves so many times.

Well now, a new trend is emerging and it is bound to make the ALS challenge seem like a blessing in comparison. It all started on April 21st when Facebook user Stephanie Monique Soils shared this picture of her and her beau on her Facebook page.

The picture itself might be cute, but people took to the message in the caption, which thanks the ex-girlfriends, ex-wives or ex-partners of the man in question for breaking his heart and leaving him for her to find and fall in love with. 

Now, hundreds of women are posting pictures of their own with the same caption or a variation of it; each one beginning with the phrase “To the girls who let him go…”.  Take a look for yourselves.

And there’s plenty more where that came from.

Some Facebook users are not pleased, leaving comments calling this trend “vomit-inducing” “cringe-worthy” and “awful”. Others continue to repost and support this so-called declaration of love, liking the photos, or re-sharing their own version. To each their own we suppose.
