How to Have a Happy Pregnancy
Do you find that when it comes to pregnancy—everyone (and I mean everyone) has an opinion?
An opinion and usually a story! You’d think those around you would want to encourage you, cheer you on, tell you good things, right? Not!
For some reason, people love to talk freely about their negative experiences. During my pregnancy, I heard a lot about miscarriages. Did that help me? NO! In fact, it freaked me out and made me really anxious (especially after I had one myself!). Trust me, I did a lot of checking and re-checking my underpants to make sure that everything was okay. Sound familiar?
If you want to have a happy pregnancy, take everything everyone says with a grain of salt!
Filter through what you hear—pick and choose! And DO take charge of what other people share with you. You can’t control other people, but you CAN control what you hear! So if someone starts sharing their horror story with you, say, “Thank you, but no thank you,” or, just walk away.
Now, that doesn’t mean that we can’t sympathize with people who have had challenges, absolutely not! What it does mean is—limit what you hear. People get “stuck” on negatives and love to share (or should I say scare!)—don’t be a victim!
Take care of yourself and surround yourself with positive and supportive people!!
