I think springtime is even more special for my only lovely daughter and me. It has been one year since her brutal and random attack/stabbing.
Springtime now allows me to rejoice with her. She survived. Her family, all seven, did.
And now we can do the “springy” as she would say—things that we especially enjoy.
When springtime hits, we crack open all the windows, make fresh lemonade, and head outdoors. When together (she lives in VA!), we enjoy creating, especially planting outdoors!
We city girls get our hands dirty and go crazy in my back yard! We plant indoor and outdoor gardens, including tomatoes and the best herbs and fresh flowers. Of course fresh flowers!
We then harvest them, resurrecting all the vases in our home. We giddily fill all the rooms in my family home with these bursts of sunshine!
We smile to see our rewards knowing that we celebrate this time, mom, and daughter as simply precious, ever more so, now.
