Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, California invites physically, mentally and developmentally disabled adults into their 12,000 square foot studio for artistic instruction, gallery promotion, and personal expression. The first of its kind, Creative Growth opened in 1974 and inspires those struggling with a range of disabilities—from autism to Down’s syndrome—to find their voice through art. Their amazing art is exhibited in notable museums around the world, such as the Modern Museum of Art in New York.
