Well, my story has a nice surprise in the conception. My husband and I met last year and it was love at first sight. He’s a sergeant in the USMC. We married last July and he deployed to Afghanistan in November of that year (2009). This being his third tour and my first, I was a little on edge. He was gone for 210 days of our first year of marriage. He returned home May 31 of this year, safely, and July 13 we found out we were pregnant. Not only is this our first child, it’s the first grandchild on both sides. We found out on October 4 that we’re expecting a girl; we’re naming her Emery Rose, after my mother. A few years ago, I had cervical cancer and had a procedure done to take care of it and I was told it would lessen my changes of conceiving by 65 percent. So when I found out, I cried, I jumped up and down, and I thanked the lord above; it was truly a gift and a blessing. Our baby girl is my husband’s welcome home present. God bless our military! Even the wives, families, and others.
