In February of this year 2008, my husband and I decided to start our family. The first time we tried, no luck, but the second time in March I found out I was pregnant. We were so excited. I went to the doctor because I was having some unusual severe cramping; he told me I was losing the baby. My husband and I were both terribly upset, but we knew everything happens for a reason and God knew what was best for our life. The doctor told me it would be three to six months before we were able to conceive again. That was very upsetting because my husband was leaving for Iraq in June and we had wanted to get pregnant before he left.
At the end of May we tried one more time. I went to a different doctor and told her I thought I was getting a UTI because I was crabby and my back hurt and I was very tired all the time. She said I think your pregnant. I was like no way, really? I took a pregnancy test when I got home and they performed a blood test and lo and behold I was pregnant.
I’m eight weeks now and my first appointment is coming up. My husband and I are so excited and I got to tell him one week before he left. What do doctors know? When it comes down to it everything is in God’s hands.
