Swiping right is about to get a lot more personal. We're talking "knowing how often you listen to that Wicked soundtrack" personal.
That's right. Tinder, the ever-popular dating app, has matched with music giant Spotify to give users a whole new way to judge their potential matches. The combination allows Tinder members to not only read each other's (obviously) incredibly witty bios, but they are also now able to view one another's most-played music on Spotify. In addition, the companies have made it possible to add what they call a "Tinder Anthem" to their profiles. (See: MySpace's profile song for a similar concept.) The new addition to the app also makes it possible to see which artists you have in common with your potential soulmate.
The companies' partnership has also resulted in five exclusive "Tinder Music" playlists, including "Pre-Swipe," "Discovery," "Match," "Love at First Swipe," and "Date Night."
Part of us feels like we need to run to Spotify and listen to all of the hippest music we know for the next week to clean up our profiles a bit. However, on the plus side, at least we'd be getting our T-Swift obsession out there from the get-go.
Tinder is to show off your top music from Spotify. I've not been under such musical pressure since I had to choose a MySpace profile song.— Jono Read (@jonoread) September 20, 2016
