Low Budget Bedroom Makeover

I recently had an opportunity to do a bedroom makeover Better Homes and Garden style.

I was given a task to redo my bedroom with a budget of $500 and first I thought it would be a mission impossible to decorate a room with only five hundred dollars, but in fact I had hard time getting the whole money spent! I shopped the Better Homes and Gardens product line sold at Walmart and turned our very blah bedroom to spring sophisticated for under five hundred dollars.

Our bedroom is very small, so I wasn't able to fit many furniture in, thus I turned a few storage boxes into a side table. I love the black photo frames and I mixed some colorful flower photos with black and white family photos to give the room a personal touch but still elegantly to match the rose pillows in the bed. My kids helped me to pick the photos and we all printed them home, and the two photo frames with photos ended up costing around 50 all together, what an inexpensive focal point for the room. This time I bought all new bedding for our bed, but just getting a few new decorative pillows and new curtains is an easy way to get a new look for your bedroom. I usually try to pick solid color sheets and blankets, so I can easily change the look without buying everything new every time I want to change the look in our bedroom.

I actually have been so inspired by the Better Homes and Gardens and the whole makeover-on-a-budget thing, that I am already thinking of new rooms to decorate. I have been flipping through new ideas at the Better Homes and Gardens Web site. Also, I got a free subscription with the bookshelf I bought, there is a free one year Better Homes and Gardens magazine subscription included with many of the BHG furniture sold at Walmarts! So you are truly getting bang for your buck!
